We get a better look at the new character today. Nothing too spectacular to say about him. I mean, we're just staring at the back of his head. I actually meshed together a previous background image with that character's drawing...so now it looks more complete. A little cheating on my part, but if it works, it works.
Anyway, looking at this comic now...maybe a month from when I actually drew it...Torio looks horrid. Definitely not very smooth on my part. I think I can draw a much better picture of Torio now. Oh yes, for those who's been out of the loop the past month or so...ROL has a comic preview section that allows you to admire sketches of comics not published yet. If you had been keeping up with that section – you'd have already seen this page. I posted it all up. So if you're a hardcore ROL fan, click the link on the sidebar. It's really simple. Completely free too.
Now since I'm on the topic of drawing comics weeks ahead of time...I admit that I haven't drawn much this past week. This is definitely one of those weeks where I'm thankful I worked ahead of time to cover for laziness. I guess you could call it artist's block. It's more because I'm working on a fight scene right now...and I really suck at those. I really have to move out of my “range” and start working on less static poses for my characters. I've been told that my characters can be placed into any situation and still look correct...because they always look so generic. I might as well reuse image after image and only change their faces. So, I guess I'll work on changing that so people will stop criticizing me.
