ORIGINAL NEWS ENTRY:
I've had complaints that Haruko's picture on Friday's comic looks too Asian (in a stereotypical sense). Well, I have some bad news for you. He still looks Oriental in today's comic. Not that it's a bad thing...it's just that I haven't drawn him for such a long time I forgot how his dimensions were so somehow I drew his eyes longer or something to make him, apparently, look like the stereotypical “Chinese/Japanese dude” old 70s cartoons used to have. If I didn't already have over a hundred comics from Generation 1+2, I probably could have gotten away with saying he really is Asian and draw that way for the rest of the comic...but I can't anymore. Oh well. You're not going to see him for a while after today's comic anyway.

So today in ROL Comic Land, we have Shino yelling at Torio and Haruko to hurry up so all three of them could catch up to Yasu and Keiko who we assume are almost to the burning city from comic 12. Mr. Smart-Alec-Haruko goes on to ask why are they moving towards danger when instinct would tell them to do otherwise (*Note: there's a reason why I made Haruko say this! Foreshadowing or something). Torio says that they're not normal and Haruko goes into his little monologue again about being outcasts. And that sums up this page. Not much happens here.

Now that I look at this comic...it seems that I'm trying my hardest to avoid drawing full bodies. A lot of little bodies or head shots instead. But despite having drawn less, doing it this way seems a bit more...professional. This is kind of odd because you'd think a more detailed and full-blown image would be more professional-like, but it's not necessarily true. I was reading an article the other day...and they say that in order to meet their deadlines, manga artists try to draw as little as possible in order to fill up all the pages. So there are a lot techniques they use to make it seem like a full drawing when in reality they are only drawing half of it. A little something I should look into if I want to continue this 3 comics a week thing I've been trying ^_^
